It took time after consulting with Neville to prepare it, what with waiting for the phases of the moon it required to gel the ingredients. He thought he and Ginny would be happily together by the time he presented it to her, but she still needs it, whether she's with him or not. Especially if she's going to be in Goleta more now, where the demon possessed her in the first place.
He finishes his toast, rinses off his plate, and heads outside to the rose bed. The posset's been tucked under the branches where it can bask in the moonlight and sunlight for purification. He picks it up; it's a small red bag tied with a purple ribbon. Surely she won't mind a present like this from him.
He waits for her in History, pretending to be more interested in his drawing than on who's coming in the door.
